B&Bs

Explore the New Forest page has many links to local B&Bs.

These two are the closest to the site:

Beechen House is on the same side of the road as the site.

Clayhill House is just down the road and across the street, right next to the Crown and Stirrup pub.

There are several B&Bs on that stretch of the A337 (and just off of it) north of the High Street. There also are some b&bs and hotels along the A35 east of the village, but they tend to be more expensive.

Little Hayes Guesthouse
Just as you're entering Lyndhurst on the A337 from the north (ie, from the M27) before you reach the high street.
According to their on-line service (Jan 09), they have two ensuite rooms (twin ensuite and double ensuite) available at £35 per persons, including breakfast, for that weekend.

Lyndhurst B&B
This one is near the Little Hayes. They do not accommodate children under the age of ten.For that weekend, they have a double room ensuite available (£35 per person per night) or two four-poster double room ensuites available at £38 per person per night. Breakfast is included.

Burwood Lodge
Again, near the two above. £35 a night per person, including breakfast.

The Laurels is just off the A337, as you approach Lyndhurst from the M27. IE, it's also north of the High Street. The web site says £26 per person per night, breakfast included, but that information might be outdated.

The Mill House Pub Hotel, across the street from the ones above. It's accommodation with a family-style pub and restaurant. But this link above has a deal of two nights for two people in an ensuite room (doesn't include breakfast) for £126 total for both nights.

Angel's Farm is a little further out of the village, but it's not that far away and it's not that far from the site. It's 17th century and is pretty.
-- £30 per person per night, but that price might be old.

If anyone wants to stay in a lovely period place, send them here.
Passford Farm Guesthouse
"Absolutely beautiful 13th Century picture-postcard thatched farmhouse. Grade II listed and set in 4 acres of gardens..."
On the far north side of Lymington, right near that 24/7 Somerfield and the hospital.

Hotel

If people have cars, there's also the Travelodge at Stoney Cross, currently (Jan 09) available at £35 a night for the Saturday and £50 for the Sunday -- for a room that sleeps up to three adults or two adults with up to two children (double bed and sofabed). It's about a 15-minute drive from the site.

The only caution is that it's on the westbound side of the A31 (next to a Little Chef) and you can't turn directly eastbound out of it; you need to continue west a little bit and then turn around.
